Indications:

It is indicated in situations of abrasion and exfoliation of the epithelium, where it will act as an optical dressing. Its high viscosity allows for a longer contact time.

Posology:

The doctor's advice should always be followed.

2 drops at night, at bedtime, in the affected eye(s), after removing contact lenses.

The dose can be increased in case of associated therapy.

Contraindications:

Contraindicated in individuals who show hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation.

Undesirable effects:

In the first instillations, photophobia, blurred vision, irritation and a feeling of dullness may appear, which are always transitory. No toxic effects are known.

Contains Benzalkonium Chloride:

Hidrocil Pensalac contains 0.1 mg of benzalkonium chloride in each ml. Benzalkonium chloride can be absorbed by soft contact lenses and can change the color of contact lenses. You must remove your contact lenses before using Hidrocil Pensalac and put them back in 15 minutes later.

Benzalkonium chloride can also cause eye irritation, especially if you have dry eyes or changes in the cornea (the clear layer at the front of the eye). If you have a strange feeling in your eye, stinging or pain in your eye after using Hidrocil Pensalac, talk to your doctor.

Contains phosphate buffers:

Hidrocil Pensalac contains 2.23 mg of phosphates in each ml. If you suffer from severe damage to the clear layer at the front of the eye (cornea), phosphates can in very rare cases cause cloudy areas in the cornea due to calcium build-up during the use of Hidrocil Pensalac.

Warnings and precautions for use:

• You must not use the bottle if the protective seal on the cap is damaged or missing before its first use.
• Always discard the first drop before each application.
• To avoid contamination, do not allow the dropper tip to touch the eye or any other surface.
• Replace the cap and close the bottle tightly after each use.
• After first opening the bottle, use within 28 days.
• Hidrocil Pensalac should be stored between 2°C and 25°C.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Presentation:

Hidrocil Pensalac is presented in a bottle with a dropper containing 3 ml or 10 ml of ophthalmic comfort solution.

Composition:

Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose at 5 mg/ml.

Excipients: monosodium phosphate, disodium phosphate, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride and water for injections.
